Meet: Stone Galleon, 234 Bradford Street, Birmingham B12 0NF (next to Hairpin House)
Ends at BM&G, Chamberlain Square B3 3DH
A meditation on the surviving slivers and vestiges of archaeological evidence in familiar streets that tell an intriguing, if nearly invisible, Birmingham story—a city noted for its frequent and careless losses. Expect to encounter remnants of signs, design details, decorative features, pubs, shops, manufactured goods and, of course, Duran Duran. Navigating several distinctly non-tourist side streets, What Was Lost is the counterpart of a sight-seeing guided heritage tour, with participants being encouraged to observe keenly our discoveries along the way, and to work loose their hesitant stories.
The walk ends at BM&G, Chamberlain Square, Birmingham B3 3DH
