Still Walking teams up with The Magic Cinema to bring you a selection of walking-themed short films. ‘Video Strolls’ is a loosely psycho-geographic video blog run by Owen Davey containing both original content and pre-existing examples of ‘strolls as stories told in video’. Also showing is a short film by Michael Smith, who you may remember from his Brum segment for The Culture Show a couple of years back. Other Still Walking-related filmic rambles past and present will also appear. The Magic Cinema has an 'open-reel' policy, meaning we’ll also show any film that is submitted to us as long as it’s under 15 minutes and as long as the filmmaker (or a friend of) comes along to introduce it. We encourage the submission of films that are in some way exploratory, ‘Meanderthal’ or somehow walking related.
About The Magic Cinema
The Magic Cinema is a regular, Birmingham based micro-cinema programme, featuring a selection of underground / obscure / no-fi / DIY / outsider films created locally or from further afield. There is also an open reel section - bring your film along and we’ll show it, as long as it's under 15 minutes.
