Old meets New on this short but packed survey of the lesser-spotted aspects of the city’s most familiar street. Lost along New Street are the remnants and layers that show how the city’s shops, cinemas, churches, roads and squares have changed over time. The walk includes a selection of indoor locations, with—for once—no pressure to buy! A ‘ghost tour’ of sorts, with shades of the city's past resting in the shadows.

Concession prices are for ages 60+ or under 16, students, those with a disability or anyone experiencing hardship (no proof of this will be requested)

Footwear suitable for urban walking and weather-appropriate clothing is essential

Three locations on the route include steps with no alternative access

No dogs (other than guide- and support dogs) as this walk visits indoor locations
