A Mouse-sized Meander // Ben Waddington

Sat 27 May // 12 pm // 90 mins

Meet: Corner of Forest Road / Mayfield Road, Moseley, Birmingham B13 9HT

A walk with 10 000 iterations in the making. This is simply the ten-minute walk that, since 1994, Ben has been taking from home to Moseley Village (‘mouse-sized’ being the origins of the name Moseley). Over the years, many minor urban details have slowly gained a greater significance and revealed their secrets. A closer connection with our daily surroundings can noticeably improve our sense of well-being and strengthen our involvement with our community. Expect to be introduced over 90 minutes to door numbers, drives, street names, cats, freebies left on walls, ghost signs and the architectural traces that hint at our history and define our locality. The walk concludes with a visit to Moseley dovecote (open today) and the surrounding 18th-century garden.
